Who knew...

So, I've been doing some job searching in hopes to find the remote job of my dreams and in some a requirement was a drivers license. Which is kind of confusing considering it's a remote job and all the work is done via the internet, like what do I need it for if I'm literally not going anywhere? Why look for a remote job? Well I've realized that in my 10+ years of working in retail that I don't really like people. Now my coworkers are never the problem it's the customer interactions that have ruined me for life however, I can fake it like a pro at this point but I'd rather not be emotionally drained at the end of the day. I hope to be able to get a job where I can write creatively and about topics that I enjoy but I suppose it'll take time to find the perfect job for me. Or perhaps it's only difficult because some companies ask for too much, like a cover letter, resume and years of experience in the industry even though it's an entry level position. How can I get any of the experience required if no one will accept someone without any experience doing this sort of thing? Nothing in this world would make me happier than to perform a job that I love without having to constantly interact with customers who think they're better simply because you work in retail.

Honestly let's talk about it, we've all seen the TikToks and memes about how awful it is to work in retail but not many people understand the sort of stress it can cause physically and emotionally. Constantly being surrounded by people who truly believe the phrase "the customer is always right" like in what universe was that ever accurate? How is this random person "right" when the employees literally have to go through hours of training and learn about several different company policies just to do something as simple as socking or cashier work? It never really made sense to me and the phrase should be publicly erased from all areas of life digital and otherwise. "I'd like that stricken from the record" is what comes to mind because it's a phrase that should never have been given any power. Though at this point in my life I stopped caring about a lot of things when it comes to retail, it's all the same and no one seems to want to change it so best to leave the industry all together and try something new. Well I suppose that was a rant that needed some attention since it's been all this time and I am now mentioning it. So any who... that's all for now, I'm sure I'll be back soon with more to say about whatever I want.
